Golden League Athletics is held in the Stadio Olimpico for July 13. The Golden Gala was first held in 1980, in the aftermath of the Moscow Olympics, and was a huge success, attracting 208 athletes from 21 countries. The 60,000 attendance is a record that has never been beaten. The famous stadium was the scene of the 1960 Olympics and is also home to Serie A football clubs Lazio and Roma.
